Hello! My name is HENRY.

I'm just lounging around today, I've had a busy day at the office.

I've been e-mailing my new friends at the adoption kennel where
I will be going until I find my new forever home.
They say it is a nice place, the food is good, Tom and Jerry
are really nice to all the hounds, and we get to watch whatever
TV channel we want.

So I'm very relaxed about moving into the kennel.
I know they will take good care of me.

And I hear we have a social

gathering every Saturday morning, lots of walking, brushing and
especially good ear rubs.

will let me use their computer to keep in touch with all my friends.

Hi everyone! My name is DOC and I'm brand new to Oregon

and the OGA adoption kennel. I came with several of my buddies

and we're just getting settled in.
It was a long ride from Miami, Florida!

It's been kind of chilly out here in the country, Iris said

it might even snow a lot this coming winter.
I don't exactly know what snow is,

but I guess I'll find out.
That Iris is sure one cute little girly.

I'm a very laid back, mellow guy and would like nothing

better than a big soft bed and warm fireplace for the winter.

I like buttered popcorn and would really like to be home in time

to watch the Super Bowl.

I have no problem with kitties, I just turn my head the other way

and ignore them. They gave me my own personal cell phone, so you

I’m Iris – like the flower. I have a birthday this month and will be a fabulous four. I am really cute and sometimes I can get crazy excited for a few minutes when people come to see me. I have an ebony coat that sparkles after my bath - and did I tell you that I am really cute. I love, love, love people and car rides – and I don’t leave nose art on the car windows - and in case I forgot to tell you - I am cute. I have been waiting for quite awhile for a home and human(s) that I can call my own. I think kitties are for snacking and I don’t like other dogs – except Candy. Candy is my BFF and I have heard that she has a home. What’s a cute girl like me goin’ to do? I don’t remember why I don’t like other dogs – maybe my littermates picked on me when I was just a tot – or maybe I was bullied when I went to school - because I am cute.

Detective Harry Hound just left the kennel. He told me he found

Jered's Hippo and it checked out just fine. I've got a little extra time

on my paws, so I'll just go see for myself.

Voila! I have the Hippo. Seems to be in pretty good shape.

Yes, all 3 1/2 legs are accounted for.

I'm very pleased with the condition of Hippo, his bow is still attached

and he still has two eyes.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon break playing, I mean inspecting Jered's

Hippo toy. Time for a bucket of Strawberry Lemonade, my favorite, a quick
roll in the warm sand, and back inside for a nap.

It was the first day of SPRING
and the SUN was shining!
So I grabbed my favorite toy

and headed outside to grab some rays.
I had sooo much fun in the sun,

running and throwing my toy.

Uh Oh, poor alligator,
his innards came out and his head came loose,
I wonder how that could possibly have happened?

Maybe something happened when

it hit the roof, rolled in the gutter
and fell in the bucket of water.

Well, I needed a rest and something to drink, anyway.

That was pretty tasty strawberry lemonade,
I drank the whole thing!

I'm feeling a little dizzy,
too much lemonade, makes me walk in circles.

All the volunteers are showing up for our weekly walk out

in the big field, better go in and get cleaned up,
maybe my friend Rania will be here today.

Here's my friend, Rania, the treat lady!
She is so nice to all of us,
she carries treats in her pocket, liver biscotti today.

And just look what happened,
the beautiful sun went away and it's raining some more.

But all in all, it was a pretty nice day.
I got to play with my favorite toy,
enjoy a jug of strawberry lemonade,

and had some treats,
what hound could ask for anything more!

Oh, there is one more thing I would really love,
my own forever home.

I like children, but do not like kitties or small dogs.

A VISIT TO FUREVER PETS BY ELLY

Hello everyone, I'm ELLY!
One very, very cold winter day
those silly humans decided it was time

for a field trip to Portland.
So we put on our warmest winter coats,
and off we went.
Brrrrr!

Handsome Jered asked his best friend Alan
to meet him at the pet store.

Jered had the honor of wearing
the brand new OGA donation vest.

My oh my!
How could you say "No" to Jered.
He did quite well in collecting donations.

The funds will help feed and house Jered and

She's a very sweet, very busy retired mom-dog.
She has

excellent leash manners and her fur is as soft as velvet.

And RAIDER is thinking ZURI is a pretty cute little chicky!
They are making plans to attend the Brindle Boys' Concert

this evening at the Bunnies Run Bar and Grill.

Looks like we better hurry and get ZURI home to the kennel

before she falls asleep on her feet!
A well earned nap before this evening's big outing.

He'll be stopping at the florist on the way back -

THE GIANT BLUEBERRY By JERED

Here I am at Sellwood Pet Supply.
I was minding my own business and

checking out the new Mango Shampoo
on the bottom shelf when
a giant

blueberry rolled up to me!

Where on earth do they grow such huge blueberries!
It looks very juicy

and tasty, yummy!

A great big chomp, and oh my!
Not quite what I expected.
This is one tough berry!

It has a funny taste, kind of like rubber,
strangest blueberry I've ever seen!

It's kind of fuzzy on the outside.
I'll have to peel the skin back

a little to get to the best part inside.

It has a really tough skin.
I'm having a little trouble here.

Well I managed to chomp down
and get to the inside of the berry,

and you know what,
there was nothing there!

LEA'S SURGERY UPDATE

Hi! My name is LEA.
I am 7 years old and am retired
from the track and motherhood.

It is time for me to find that soft couch and loving family.
But

first I need to tell you all about my trip to Spain
and the dancing school.

A very handsome Spanish gentleman
was playing the guitar.

I quickly learned the Spanish Hula,
you gently sway from side to side to the beautiful music.

The Tango was rather difficult to learn,
all four feet going

different directions at once!
If you sing along with the music it really helps - OLE!

And the Rhumba!
My best dance, I was a knockout

and won the heart of many a handsome hound!

And the Spanish Waltz, so beautiful and graceful.

But then something happened -

My foot started hurting and I had to stop dancing!
I couldn't put any weight on it and

even had to hold it up sometimes!
I was really pretty scared and so were my human friends.

So it was off to see the vet.

The vet said now listen close "You have a bone spur."
The vet said he

could fix it with a little surgery,
and I'd be good as new and could dance

again to my heart's content! I am so excited!

My surgery is scheduled for March 2nd.
If you would like to

help me with my surgery I would really appreciate it,

or maybe you might like to meet me and take me home.

Early Spring Shopping and Lunch By ZURI

Zuri woke up Saturday morning and saw that it
was going to be a beautiful day.

Attention all hounds: I will be in charge of the field trip
into town today.
The silly neighbor lent me his minivan,
so we'll be leaving at 10 AM.

LEA wasn't too sure that she wanted to go,
but LUXOR said he'd take good

care of her, she didn't need to be frightened of ZURI's driving skills.
So they joined

in the trip to Salty's for shopping and lunch.

JOE was invited personally by ZURI to be the navigator on this

trip. He is such a handsome hound!

Sweet LEA arrived at Salty's in fine shape to begin her

shopping spree and find something special for lunch.

French frog legs for lunch? Ou La La! Deep fried please!

ZURI has the same idea, although she's not waiting for them to be fried!

Very popular lunch item.

LUXOR was eyeing the treat table, bones, cookies and his favorite

lamb trachea - Yummy!

After lunch a little shopping was in order. LUXOR found

new toys and treats to take back with him to share with his
buddies at the kennel. ZURI said she might let him try driving a little
on the way back, he's pretty excited!

VAN was looking for some new collars and leashes to match

his beautiful fawn coat.

But instead of leashes and collars, he found the best treat ever - a

great big hug from his friend Rosanna.

WINTER COAT FEST by BELLE

Welcome to our annual Winter Coat Festival.
My name is BELLE, and

I'll tell you about each coat and the hound model.

My coat is a lovely rose color trimmed in powder blue.
The snood and lining are

of a matching warm polar fleece.
My coat is edged with a reflective strip so I'll be

noticed when strolling during the evening in my hometown of Paris.

ZURI is our next model.
ZURI is a young girl, at just 3 years of age.
She is a very pretty red brindle.

She is wearing a bright pink, fleece lined coat.
The snood has horizontal stripes
which make your neck look long and elegant.

ZURI would love to have a home without cats or small dogs.
She walks nicely

on the lead and is crate trained and housebroken.

And here's STAR modeling a snazzy red and navy blue coat
with white pinstripes.

STAR is a beautiful, shiny black girl and just 6 years young.

STAR is a retired momma dog,
and would love to move into a home without cats.
She is a busy and very happy girl.

It was so much fun to walk in the snow,

it made me want to kick up my heels and dance!

Sweet little CANDY is modeling a beautiful periwinkle blue coat.
The fleece lining and snood are of a cute checked material.

CANDY is only 2 years old and ready to move into
her forever home.
She is an active little girl, and would prefer a home without cats.

to see if I can catch them in midair.

It's getting close to Christmas,
so a few of us went to Multnomah Village,
specifically Healthy Pets NW, to do some shopping.

Lea came along to be sure we got enough treats for everyone.

Lazlo was in charge of checking out the beds
to find the softest one.

And Tasha just had to come too.
She's in charge of the finances.

We did lots and lots of shopping and
found something for everyone,
except our two favorite humans,

Tom and Jerry.
We searched high and low, far and wide,
we wanted something very special for them.

Here I am modeling a most

beautiful pair of reindeer antlers,

I think we've found the most perfect gift!

The antlers reminded Lea of all the love and laughter

PAR IRIS THE TRUFFLE SLEUTH

Hello everyone. I AM IRIS, the one, the only, the best

truffle hunter in the county. I have eagle eyes that see far and wide,

and a great nose for sniffing out the elusive truffle.
Come spend the morning with me.

And this is my farm, famous for the finest truffles

in the county. But of course only I can find them,
they are so well disguised.

I am already starting to drool,
I can hardly wait to bite into a fresh truffle!
I see my friend coming out, I'll just walk over there to meet him.

Say Hello to Harry, he's new around here,
and he's also very handsome.

I promised to tell him my secrets for a successful truffle hunt.
He has the most gorgeous brown eyes,
he gives me the shivers all up and down my spine!

I could go on and on about him,
but let's get going on our truffle hunt.

Keep your nose near the ground and move from right to left, back and

forth across the field. It's a slow process, but oh so worth it.

Turn around and come back the other way. Remember to

keep your eyes wide open and scan every inch of the field.

And what do I see??? Is it a truffle, a magic truffle??

Just might be!

OH MY GOSH! Just look what I found!! It's a magic truffle!

Now be very careful, and only take a small taste because

shake, rattle and roll

Look what happened to me!!!!!
